Went over to the sea front to see all the FON crowd. There were lots of people sailing, but the sea looked a bit rough for us. We had our picnic lunch, but gave up on that as the sand was blowing across the beach, and made the sandwiches taste awful.. I had my camera but didn't want to get it out with so much sand being blown around, sorry everyone.

We went home and got our trailer and went down to the estuary, where there were several other FON guys waiting for the tide to come in.

It was very windy, but I rigged my 5.7 so Sarah could have the 5.0. Sarah decided to wait and see whether I found I was overpowered. I found that I was well powered up and having a great time. So we rigged the 5.0 for Sarah.

We had a couple of good reaches, and I made a couple of passable attempts at a gybe, (BEFS told me he made his first planing gybe, pity I didn't see it, but I saw some other decent attempts from him).

The wind started to pick up and I was by now overpowered, Sarah was struggling also, so we came in for a bit to wait for it to calm down. Many of the others packed up at this point. (I counted a dozen sails, there may have been more).

It seemed to calm for a bit so we went back out and had a couple of good reaches before it picked up again, so in we came until it settled, but when we went out we were underpowered. So we strugled for a bit, and then it picked up to marginal. I got a couple of nice blasts but not enough to think about carving.

We were standing in the edge when a new front arrived and I saw the wind coming so Sarah went first and I followed, but the wind was very very very strong, so we decided to call it a day.

Storm winds, they were consistent but varied throughout the day, so it was all a bit of a patchy session. Not a bad session though.
